As a waterfall splashes to one side, the pool appears to flow effortlessly into the surrounding lawn and landscaped garden, filled with low- maintenance grasses and pebbles.
It’s a trick of the eye of course, an ‘‘infinity edge’’ that flows into a balance tank, unseen by swimmers.
The free-form swimming pool has a mix of angled sides and a huge sweeping curve that appears to arc into the lawn. It’s builder jokes that it has ‘‘Warragamba Dam’’ proportions, being 15 metres long and, at its widest point, 15 metres wide.
The luxury creation has won Splish Splash Pools the free-form or natural concrete pools division of the Excellence in Building Awards.
