Working with Rolling Stone Landscapes, this pool renovation was part of an overall update of the exterior of this Castlecrag home.
On inspection, the issues with the pool were the dysfunctional spa, outdated surrounds and a significant height difference between the outdoor entertaining area and the pool. In order to resolve these issues the height of the pool was raised and the waterline brought to the edge of the entertaining area to maximise the visual effect of the pool. The spa was removed and the length of the pool was extended. The additional length of the pool allowed for the creation of suitable entry steps and a beach area.
A clever design feature of this pool was the creation of a rain water tank using part of the existing pool. In order to comply with BASIX and Council requirements, a rain water tank was required on the property. By reducing the width of the pool with a solid concrete wall, the remaining section of the existing pool become the rainwater tank. This design had many environmental benefits, as well as meeting compliance requirements.
The contrasting colours of the blue interior and the York Gris coping product produce a sparking pool, which is a fantastic feature in the yard. The timber deck provides a natural link between the surrounding yard and the pool.
In order to finalise the modernisation of this pool area, Paramount infloor cleaning was added, to reduce maintenance for the owner, along with multi-coloured pool lights, to create an additional dimension to the pool at night.Pool Photography By:
